Jamón de Trevélez, Serrano with Protected Geographical Indication Jamón de Trevélez and blue seal. This ham has a minimum curing period of 17 months in the Sierra Nevada mountains, in Granada.
The hams from Trevélez are well known in the town of Trevélez, although the producers that make up the Protected Geographical Indication of Trevélez are also in other towns such as Juviles or Portugos.
Jamón de Trevélez is made with the highest quality pork leg and sea salt, and is cured in an area with a very particular microclimate through a traditional artisanal drying and curing process. The result is a balanced ham, low in salt, with great flavor and aroma.
