Trevélez hams are well-known in the town of Trevélez, although the producers that are part of the Protected Geographical Indication of Trevélez are also located in other towns such as Juviles or Portugos.
The Trevélez ham is made with the highest quality pork leg and sea salt, and is cured in an area with a very particular microclimate through a traditional artisanal drying and curing process. The result is a balanced ham, low in salt, with great flavor and aroma.
